brake pedal on cherokee
« on: December 06, 2007, 09:25:23 PM »

very new to jeeps. i have just bought  a 93 4.0 cherokee, and wondered why it seems that sometimes whilst coming to a stop the brake pedal seems to push back at me, like there was a change in pressure. is this common or do i have a problem? there doesnt seem to be a lack of bracking power.

lot's of factors to be taken into consideration..........one could double check the brake pads for tolerances and the sensors are clean with the exciter ring set correctly.

also right foot could be heavy or tyres fooooked.

the ABS will force the pedal back towards you and will have a pulsing feel to it. If the pedal is being pushed back towards you smoothly then it might be worth looking at the brakes. does the car pull to one side (sticking caliper) or it might be worth looking at the rear brakes especially if you hear cluncking.
