Disable immobilser & alarm question
« on: February 11, 2008, 09:47:08 AM »

I picked up my 98 GC Orvis the other day and it only had 1 remote fob with it, until I get another is it possible to disable the immobiliser.  It's not unknown for my wife to lose every set of keys she gets her hands on!

I also need to disable the Alarm.  The seller fitted a new battery for me before i arrived and the internal alarm went off..and then wouldn't switch off..

Obviously i couldn't drive all the way back to spain with the alarm sounding. So I removed the Siren and buried it in her compost heap.  I would really like to disable it completely.. Any ideas how?

Maybe someone like Mike can verify this, but on AMERICAN ZJs, if you ground the purple/yellow wire which comes from the drivers door and is accessible from the drivers door kick panel, then the alarm will always think the door is open and hence won't arm.

Don't get too excited, as European ZGs are different to US ZJs in a number of ways, the alarm being one of them.
