4.0 L Grand (wj) temperature
« on: July 02, 2008, 03:25:22 PM »

Hi

Can someone tell me what to expect the temperature to read please as I have a feeling she might be running a little too hot. From cold it rises to 100 c after a couple of miles and sits there. It seems to be reluctant to go higher even though the engine is obviously really hot sometimes after I have been stuck in traffic ir something.

But now and again, mainly on a hot day I have noticed that the coolant level has dropped, and this co-incides with the hot day.

It is also running on LPG

My last car was a diesel passat and the guage used to sit at 90 c no matter what.

Thanks for any help

100 is pretty normal for my 4.0l, it'll normally get to 105 in traffic or moving slow on a hot day but this is when the fan kicks in and it doesn't go any higher.

I definitely wouldn't worry about it being hotter than your Passat, very different vehicles and engines.
