Hi Everyone,

CB Installation nearly done except for the antenna tuning...unless my current readings are ok.

Put the antenna straight on (Firestik copy with wire coil, not tuning screw) and got readings or 1.4 on channel 1 and 2.5 on channel 40.

Took a fraction off the antenna (1/4inch or so) and small amount of cable and now it hardly if at all registers on channel 1 and 1.5 on channel 40. Is this right or should channel 1 be something like 1.2??

If I've taken to much off can I solder a bit back on or do I have to put a spring or something between the antenna and the mount to lengthen the antenna?

Driving me mad.

As I recall you want the lowest SWR reading in the middle frequencies, but what you have, I would think is fine for just chatting between vehicles whilst laning and on play days etc.
