hello all i hope you had a dirty weekend!!
we have a grand cherokee 2.7 diesel and it has developed a squeak from the rear, as you drive along at low speed its as if metal is grinding against metal sort of squeak, when you speed up it disapears, i have had irt in the garage for a complete day were they removed the inboar shoes cheked they were ok, greased and lubed axles etc etc, i sugested the rolling road and put her in neuteral on the differential this was tried but still the sound continues wether in high low or neutral settings, at its last mot in 07 it was given these advisories
Reason(s) for refusal to issue Certificate
Offside Front Brake disc(s) excessively worn (3.5.1h)
Nearside Front Brake disc(s) excessively scored (3.5.1h)
Offside Rear Anti-roll bar has excessive play in a pin/bush (2.4.G.3)
Nearside Rear Anti-roll bar has excessive play in a pin/bush (2.4.G.3)
No Advisory Notice issued
the above where done exept
Offside Rear Anti-roll bar linkage has slight play in a pin/bush (2.4.G.3)
i do think myself its a bush squeking!, as ive had a listen, and also when its been sat for a couple of days it takes a while for the squeek to come back, is it possible that the pin bush has deteriorated so much that its causing the metal to rub together under load?
i hope you guys can help all the best mat at m and c
