The XJ has started to develop an problem starting (first thought it was the immobiliser). Leave it more than an hour and you need to crank it for 5 seconds or so for it to start (4l auto) But if you turn key to last stop before cranking and wait a couple of seconds, turn off and repeat it fires up okay.
So it looks like a fuel pressure loss back to the tank.
Now will a dodgy fuel filter cause this issue?
I did have to replace thefuel sender, but that was over 6 months ago and had no issues uptil a few weeks ago.
Only other think is it is on lpg but as it starts on petrol and does this with the lpg system turned off I doubt it is that.
Is this a sign the fuel pump is on the way out?
cheers
