Nissan Alternator wire up
« on: November 08, 2008, 07:29:34 PM »

I just got my new alternator for the diesel CJ of eblag.
Originally intended for a Nissan Cabstar or Vanette or summat, it's got a nice new vacuum pump on the back of it.
I've got a suspicion that this is a brand new chinese copy of a jap alternator masquerading as a recon item, but if it works, who cares?
I'm not grumbling at £100 all in.
Anyway, it fits in the space, clears the 'zorst pipe and leaves space for me to mount the CJ steering pump above it.
What I need to find out is how the hell does it wire up???
There's a 5mm insulated post with "B" cast next to it, which I'm assuming is the battery +ve conection.
Then there's a funny semi-circular split block connector thingy with two male 5mm spades looking at me.
I assume one or both of these go to the ignition light but I'm not sure.
Anyone familiar with these units out there?
I don't really want to buy a Nissan shop manual just to wire this bugger up
