Heater core replacement

I have to replace my heater core in my 98 2.5TD Facelift Cherokee.
Can anyone give me some advice on what I need to remove from the dash and what I can leave in place please?

take out the front seats for starters to give you room to move

IIRC it is the passenger side and centre piece, don't need to pull the drivers side of the dash out

Cheers guys, I've got most of the dash out but now I'm stuck. :-(

Do I need to remove the steering wheel and centre console. I've removed the two nuts fixing it tot he floor but it seems like the bracket is stopping it from coming free. Without removing the centre console I can't see how to get the bracket out. I don't want to take this out unless I need to.

Ok this is proving to be a real F*****G S**T.

How is the heater box attached to the fire wall? I've found what looks like two studs, I've removed the nuts but the box still won't budge!!!

What do I need to do once I've removed the box? How about the AC?

There are about 6 studs through the firewall - when thy have  all ben removed it will simply pull away - if it seems stuck there is at least one left.

By the way one or two can be hard to find - I know :roll:

Have you drained the gas? Its illegal to drain AC gas to the atmosphere, it has to be removed correctly.

Thanks I've already had it drained, he'll also come bacl and refill the system for me.
I think you miss understood my question. I need to disconnect the pipes for the AC so I can pull the heater box out, but they don't just unsrcew or pull apart they seem to be crimped/pressed together.
I'll take a picture later to show you what I mean.

I have found the special tool I need to seperate the pipes, ordered and on it's way. :-D
