Now i can work in the warmth...

Well due to a local layby being the Fly Tippers favourite spot for all types of crap! This little lot turned up the other day. So doing my bit for recycling, made up a Garage/Tent woodburner 8-)













By the way, the bottle was 100% purged of all gas before any cutting was done. :shock:

made one of those earlier in the year. they work really well. i put a mesh inside mine about 2/3 down so the air gets under the fuel. ya can get it glowing red with the flame comin out the top of the chimney 8-)

Where did you get the chimney from?  I bought a very similar "patio heater" a couple of years ago.  The chimney disintegrated after a year, and I am a loss as to how to get a replacement.  Can't use it at the moment, as the smoke is at eye level.

Also, that paint will soon burn off.  My gas cannister used to glow red!

Im pretty sure its known as HVAC pipe? RS Catalogue or Maybe Farnell (Google the names) machine mart will have the woodburner pipe avail, but its not cheap :-)

It looks like 100mm spiral ducting, used in ventilation.

Find a local ducting/sheetmetal/ventilation company, they should have some cuttings lying around, or it would only cost about £10 for 3 meter length from a trade supplier.

Careful using alluminium ducting for the chimney, if it goes hot it will burn off alloy oxide which is kinda toxic ;)

The stuff im using is galvanized, needs a the galv removed before any welding though.

like with most things, you use a ladder at home but it isn't worth the risk to use one at work with all the leagal complications that go with the use and care of one
