HI I can not decide to gas my xj . Are they any problems with gas .
What are the good points . Is it worth it as i only do 6000 miles a year
Can i take a gas set up of 1996 jeep and fit it on my 1997 modal . If i do this will my xj pass it MOT or will it have to be done by a gas mechanic.

ya need to get it done properly if at all. ya need to keep a good set of plugs in and even if ya do 2000 miles a year its gotta be worth it at the price of lpg. doo it if ya can i would say.

Done it on 2, filled the wifeys Grand up today for £32 and it will do 270 miles on that
You can fit an LPG kit yourself, but it will cost £700 in parts for a multipoint system, for the extra £500 I get 2 years warranty and no hassle fitting it.
Most insurers dont ask for a cert from a fitter these days.
Even doing just 6k miles, I'd do it. Going to lease an LPG tank for fuel at home next year, will cost £250 a year but the fuel is around 33p then.

Depends, I wouldn't get a mixer one myself. And I think the inlet manifolds are the same 93-99 (later ones had a different PS pump mount) so you could either swap the manifolds or drill out your manifold for the injectors. They will be picking up the same sensors, you just may need to double check the wires in the XJ loom are the same from the year you take it off and yours.

as long as it is a 4l the same as yours i couldnt see a problem as all the 4l's and the 2.5's are pretty much the same as each other.

My WJ is on LPG, and the KJ gets gassed next week. It is worth it, and pays pack pretty quickly.
I would get it done professionally though, unless you are a decent mechanic yourself.

I've a single point on the zj, and it works a treat.
With regards to fitting yourself, a single point is a doddle, the hardest part running the front to back copper lines, although get the vaporiser adjusted at an LPG fitters for ease. Multipoint - sorry havn't a clue.
