tick over problem

HI all can anyone help when my 4ltr is sat ticking over it has a very slight intermitant noise  like a bump the revs don't alter and it drives ok.

Maybe totally wrong but its not the heater clutch fan affair cutting in is it ?

It's probably the aircon compressor kicking in, and, yes the aircon is on whenever you select demist whether you like it or not, even on hot.

it haqppens all the time not just once but only on tickover it's like as though it misses a beat but not a miss fire
