Radio Code.
« on: February 12, 2009, 07:52:19 AM »

Not sure if this is in the correct section.

The GC had a service yesterday..... now I've got no radio.
I'm hoping it's just a case of contacting Jeep (Jeep Coventry has closed down in the last month) and handing over the VIN..... or is there another way? I don't remember ever seeing the Stereo Instruction Manual.
Could do with it PDQ as we're going on holiday tomorrow....

Thanks in advance

look in yellow pages or ask a local secondhand car dealer for the number of a radio decode service, I used to do decodes in bristol before selling my kit to a local car radio shop, it is usaly cheaper if you take out the radio yourself, and expect to pay 10-15 pounds.

you could also try a online service like this but having never used them you will have to decide if you want to try them

If you can find your manual it's printed in there.

Yes you can reset this your self (have done it myself B4).  Don't know the exact sequence now but you have to go into menu and press until perform service comes up and press set/reset.  I'm not sure if you have to hold it down a couple of seconds.  When you're in I know you can set the service interval yourself.  12.000 or 5.000 .....Just try the one or the other....you can't do any harm anyway.

Thanks!!! I think that may have sorted it.... I think I had to step through the service interval, then it said something like reset service interval or somesuch....
I verify when I next drive the car.
