Hi there everyone. I am new to the forum but not a new Jeep owner. This is currently my third Cherokee all have been 4.0 and auto.
The problem i have is it wont start.
It turn but no fire.
The fuel pump runs, have pressure in the rail but the plugs dont get wet when cranking?
ALso no spark, have pulse to distributor and coil.
Have swaped the CPS from another running jeep and the distibutor unit.
It did have an alarm system on it but it was disabled and removed.

Basically how it happened was i started it as normal, went to the fuel shop and filled it up then about 4 miles down the road it stoped and hasnt run since.
any help would be great as it has been about a week now.

Cycle the igition key 3 times and read off the fault codes.

I have never done that. Do they use blik codes via the check engine light?
From best i can make out there are 3 codes?
1st: one long flash followed by two shorter
2nd: one long flash followed by four short.
3rd one long followed by four short again.

From that it looks like i have code 21 and 55.
wouldnt have thort they should stop it starting?

I also have 94 cherokee 4.0 auto, had the same problem a year or so ago, it was the crank position sensor on the bell housing between engine and gearbox, i got a second hand one from scrapyard £40ish, fitted and fired straight up.
google it and you will find its quite common and you will fitting instructions its quite easy to do. Hope this helps.

the code is 11 ( no crank sensor signal to ecm) try checking the air gap on the sensor before you repl it.
