Don't know much about batteries but sometimes a damn hard charge, maybe with a booster on crank for a short time, sometimes frightens them back into life.

I used to fully charge and then discharge my mobiles to create high charge memory when they had the older type batteries, worked for mobiles...

I wonder if I could do that to my brain

same one
after some experimenting it seems that it charges almost 9 volts and displays all of the good things about optimas its almost imposible to discharge completly and will run lamps altough dimly for hours and hours
i have a traditoinal charger and a gel charger but the battery seems to have built up a memory

I recall reading somewhere a while back about giving Optimas a kick start once they had gone bad, but I’m not sure where or how it is done. I could have even been on here!

I did find this link, but I don’t think its much help in solving your problem: http://www.optimabatteryshop.co.uk/opti ... mation.php

EDITED - Here's the thread, I think!: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=4886&p=61685&hilit=optima+charging#p61685

Had a battery a few years back that I let go flat and would not charge up and hold....
I gave it to a garage with one of those 'kin big chargers that are the size of freezers...... job done.....
