Help! Handbrake dashboard light
« on: July 08, 2009, 07:23:02 PM »

Hi guys,

Please help!!
My wife accidently drove my XJ with the handbrake on for a short distance!!! Having taken the handbrake off, the light on the dash is staying on . Does this mean the brakes are still applied, obviously not very good brakes I know, or has the sensor had it??

Thanks

Poss check brake fluid level think it use the same light to show low level.
Think the handbrake light switch is under the lever make sure its all the way down as the lever only needs moving a small
amount to out the light on. Maybe something stuck under it?

Probably a fried rear wheel cylinder.
