zj brakes
« on: July 04, 2009, 11:38:25 AM »

I have just changed the front and rear brake pads on my '98 4 litre grand, taking it on a test drive I could smell something burning, I stopped and there was a lot of smoke coming of the back wheels, they where cooking, the fronts were very hot as well. I have never had this problem when I have fitted pads to other cars that I owned including my xj. Lighthouse supplied the pads, they matched o.k. would welcome any help with this matter.
 Cheers :010:

Only thing i can think of is sticking calipers.Maybe got a some crud on the pistons and when you pushed them back the crud got behind the seal and is now causing them to stick on.Could be completely wrong of course, but i cant think of anything else that might cause it
