Hi,
I have an '01 TJ (67K that has about 30K of that on a centreforce-II clutch) that every now and again, ie just now, doesn't seem to want me to put it in gear easily.
Mainly 1st but it happens on the others.
I thought it was just when i didn't release the clutch but I've noticed that it isn't.
Its as if i hit a 'wall', when it does you can feel the jeep move a bit. Sometimes trying to select another gear helps sometimes is does not.
The carpet/mat is all the way back, the clutch fluid is topped up.
It does it when the engine is cold or hot.
I ran the jeep all day the other week and it didn't do it but went out today and it started to do it. ( it did absolutely chuck it down but trying not to believe cos it rained that's the problem)
I have only just got the jeep back where it was with someone carrying out some work- he couldn't seem to get the jeep to do it at all as this was one of the reasons he had it.
I know its there but typically everytime people go to look at it there isn't a problem. I'm pretty loathed to take it to a stealership.
Has anyone else seen something similar or can they recommend a decent mechanic/garage( that knows what they are doing) ?
