WJ grand cherokee cruise control issue solved
« on: August 29, 2009, 01:12:58 PM »

I have a 2002 V8 grand cherokee,my cruise control hasn,t worked for ages and i,ve tryed all sorts of things to sort it out including having the vacuum system checked for leaks,i,ve changed the throttle position sensor, had it in the main stealers for them to check it out but after an hour and a half the said they couldnt find the problem and would need it for a full day and then couldnt guarentee they would be able to sort it(they didnt charge me for the 90 mins checking amazingly)but i didnt wnat to take it back and pay £100 /hour labour and i gave up...then the other day my brake lights stopped working ,they fuses where fine so i sussed out that the brake light swith next to the pedal might be faulty,i rang kings and they said it would be £7.50 for a new one so i got one and fitted it and brake lights where working again, then when i went on the motorway i tryed my cruise and to my amazement it works again..thought i,d share this with you in case anyone else had the same problem..a £ 7.50 part well worth the money because i really missed the cruise..hope this helps anyone else in the same boat...

Welcome to the forum.

I'm glad you got to the bottom of your problem with the cruise control and thanks for sharing the not so obvious solution with us.
