As some of you know, I had a problem with my XJ stopping, and then being a bast*#d to start.
Turned out to be the crank sensor, which was replaced and all was OK.
Now, its started doing it again, but this time when it stops, it will start :?:
On one of the times it stopped, we checked for fuel pressure, and found there apearred to be air in the system.
I have checked the fuel system for leaks and found none, but the fuel filter looked like it had been there from day one.
So I thought it wouldn't hurt to change it.
I removed the fuel filler cap and released the pressure from the fuel rail (there was pressure).
I then removed the old filter, the fuel that cam out of it was black :?: :?:
Cranked the engine, and it started. It then ran for about 15/ 20 mins OK. and would not restart. Checked the fuel rail for pressure and got covered in petrol, loads of pressure, by it still wouldn't run.
Ended up leaving the feckin thing at home and coming to work in the CJ.
Anyone out there got any ideas, PLEASE...........................................
