Because its so effing cold in my workshop and wood doesn't like cold and damp I have mostly been working in da metal of late and have made these.
To replace the ghay plastic sahara steps that I have comprehensively mullared in recent years.
Close up weld is unfinished as I was trying to get it good without having to resort to the flap wheel I am quite pleased as a first project.

I got my City and Guilds in Mig welding on Monday so.... stand back and watch the mayhem start.....
I also cut away the YJ mud shute at bottom of flare and took 4" off the rear and bolted it on... looks OK as a temp fix until the tube fenders.

I used 48mm 3.2mm wall tube ... a bit bigger than the 45mm I was going to use but with no bender and no way of doing compound mitres for boat sides this was the best way
I cut the bird mouth for the centre with scriber and disc cutter and flap wheel cos I've no tube notcher (all these to come later when funds appear??!)
have to say after looking at the Pirate stuff this is really tame but hey! 6 months ago I'd never welded!
Oh yes and this ~I like .... Cost of tube...... hah ha £23.... That I love.
