ok does anyone else notice this,

pushing down the throttle,she pulls away ok,not great like a sport car but ok.

however!when you set the cruise control at say 50mph then turn it to standby,(slowing traffic ahead)then press resume,she takes off like a cat on fire,loads of power till she reaches the set cruise speed again,the diffrance between this and flooring the throttle is night and day.

is there something wrong with my throttle pedal maybe,how does this pedal work?

Its a common thing it happens with all cruise controls fitted to american cars and auto boxes even the  6.5 tonne hummer I drive, if you use the resume button it will drop from 5th on the auto box to 2nd  then race to the red line to get back up to speed, it can be quite violent in action sometimes.

I'd sy there was probably nothing wrong with it. Your cruise control is operated by computer controlling the fuel pump directly, the throttle is fly by wire, no throttle cable, just a position sensor on the pedal. It has two circuits inside so both have to be working or the system would immediately go into limp mode as a failsafe.

I've had several cars with cruise, Citroen, Jeep, Mazda & Honda and they all drove
with lead boots on. Greggmo and me also fitted an aftermarket cruise to my Ranger,
but that one had 3 settings for 'aggresiveness', ranging from sedate acceleration to
lead boots.
