xj track bar
« on: March 15, 2010, 08:19:12 PM »

Hi.
I'm sure this is a topic that's come up plenty of times in the past but after searching old threads I haven't found what I'm looking for. Can anyone out there tell me where I can get a good solid adjustable RHD XJ track bar, I know they're out there, cos I recently saw one with weld on relocation brackets and all! I'm slowly getting all the parts together to begin building, axles, wheels etc. but this lack of beefy rhd steering parts and particularly a rhd track bar is holding me up. I'd rather not adapt my existing track bar cos I'm after greater strength and articulation, I'm planning on 5-6 inch lift.
cheers guys.

Ok, I checked out Claytons website, couldn't find anything for RHD trackbars but I'll e-mail him and see what he has, I'm guessing he keeps 'em out the back or maybe the LHD ones somehow clear the diff.
  Thanks for the link.

this is what i did to make a cheap adjustable track bar, and how PTP did his

works fine with my 5" lift but with the std xj rear axle you will most likely need a slip yoke eliminator on the rear output of the gearbox.

just call a few breakers on fleabay for parts

Thanks for the advice, I'll give FTE a call, they're not too far from me. If I have no joy with that, got some useful tips for building my own

I have a Clayton one, he has all the parts you'll need but it's a no return route as you have to cut away the stock track bar and steering stabiliser mount. If you fit the Clayton one, make sure the welding of the axle bracket is extra strong (don't ask how I know  :icon_redface:).
