Grr
My front fog lights are on the blink. This happened on my old XJ and reading around it seem to be one of those “features” the XJ has. I’ve a few questions..
Background stuff done already, wiring checked (more on this in a moment), relay checked and it all points to the switch in the dash.
1.As the garage did switch last time....how does the facelift dash come off, I can’t see any screws in the damn thing but it seems to be fixed in rather well. I’ve tried pulling but it feels close to breaking and still aint come off?
2.Having played hunt the wiring with a tester the switch appears to see full current, if so what’s the relay doing? It all seems the wrong way round but looks to be original wiring not some bodge job. Am I right in thinking this?
3.Is the switch removable as a single item or do I need to change that whole little panel (ciggy lighter, heated rear window, rear wiper , front fogs, rear fogs and power outlet) or does the front foggy rocker switch just come out?
4.If all I do is change the switch and if that switch is suffering as a result of current, would I be better re-wiring switch to relay and doing it all properly as it is not that big a job to do.
5.Lastly, does anyone in here have a spare facelift front foggy switch in a cupboard anywhere?
Thanks in advance for any ideas/help.
