nuts/mental jeep had been revived!!!

hey everyone....

id just like to say a big huge massive thankyou to you all, the battery was taken off charged and hes started again, all gagues working and the windows!! I cant believe it!

i did take the black cover off that says jeep on it...its covered in black stuff that looks tar...is that normal??

I think Bubba and Mike P are the only true mechanics on here  most of the rest of us have just been playing with our cars for years so have learnt a few things along the way  but their are a few spanner polishers out there.

with out seeing the  bit I haven't got a clue what tar type stuff you are on about lol

JUst out of interest I would get the  alternator checked for output voltage  to make sure its charging   and start saving for a new battery otherwise.

Well done. Keep an eye on the battery gauge, it should read 13-14 volts with the engine running. If it reads less than 12 the alternator is duff.

Well, typically my luck... Guess what?? It's now not working again!! Exactly the same thing as before, it will start just cuts out, it was fine for a bit so do you all think battery? Bubba has offered to come out as I'm only 5 mins away to check battery... Such a short lived moment of happiness!! :-(

bloomin cars!!

im thinking if i take the battery to kwik fit tomorrow will they be able to test the battery or the alternator for me?? that way ill know which one it is, im praying battery....if its the altenator any ideas on how many pennies id be needing or is it a bank job??

thanks mr panic, i dont like putting people out, feel a bit cheeky as i dont no anyone on here, i no bubba is the closest but if i can do it myself b4 asking i will, your all too lovely, ill let you know!

Im not currently working,and i am also very close,in Quinton,and am more than happy to help,and have a look for you.Im not an expert like the Bubmeister but i can at least see if its the battery or alternator at least

Don't take it to Kwik fit!!!! you have more got chance of winning the lottery than them giving you the right battery!
 and like the other's say once you say Hi your more or less one of the family.
I should be going over to old hill tomorrow just down the road from you so if you have no luck send me a pm and I'll pop round and take a look.
I am not s much sid james more of a......no forget it I have already dug myself a big hole... :lol_hitting:

you can always trust a Birty Mipple
Your posts read with a similar level of stress mine were a couple of years ago, I joined Birty's and they still cant get rid of me!

don't forget to get a battery quote from the main dealer as they have surprised quite a few people in the past on their prices, kiwk fit and halfrauds can be more expensive
