Glow Plugs not working?
« on: June 13, 2011, 07:38:09 PM »

After testing my glow plugs which all sempt fine, I have discovered that they are not heating up in the engine. When I hake them out and put a jump lead to ground the glow plug and use the feed to them and turn the ignition on the glow plug glows as it should. However if I then quickly take out a glow plug that is in situ it is cold whereas the one that was out is still too hot to touch. I thought I had a bad ground but it seems ok as the jump lead was attached to the block? Any one got any suggestions for further investigation to identify the problem?

Hi
On some diesel Jeeps There's a in line plug up at the bulkhead end, that supplies the power to all the glow plugs.
It can get crap on it or corrode. you can also check if your supplying the plugs power

There's defenatly power to the plugs, I used their power supply to check they worked just used a jump lead to ground it.
