Rough Country 4" Lift for WJ
« on: October 07, 2010, 07:31:15 PM »

The Rough Country 4" lift is the only one that you can get in the UK through an official dealer & not pay loads of tax on it. This kit does not come with a adjustable track bar but some sort of bolt on bracket. Does any one know how this works or if it's safe breaks quickly.

Probably same as TJ in this respect........ Track bar length is dependent on lift height..... After lift installed cut and weld (or have welded) track bar to the correct length you can then choose thickness and therefore strength of material..... that's what a mate did with his TJ after a few after market breakages :jpshakehead:

David is good but he only sells RC so he will be slightly biassed towards their product.

Yep the 4" Rough Country lift is available via llama, the kit has no trac bar but some kind of bracket instead that bolts on.

Iron Rock OffRoad do a RHD Adjustable Trackbar costs $ 179.99. I know cos I got one. Been fine for me.

Supposedly a replacement Track Bar is better because it keeps the same mounting points so the drag link and the track bar remain as parallel as original. Of course I could be writing bollocks.

Hold It, Hold It, Hold It.

Just looked up the page for the Rough Country kit. The Notes say," Does NOT fit models equipped with CV style shaft on the front differential."

I think that is going to be you.

Look up what I wrote in the Tech section: WJ 3+" Lift, Front Drive Shaft Problems      I think this explains it all.

I am a big fan of Tom Woods drive shafts. He would recommend a Double Cardon for the front of a Grand.

Yes that replies to me I'm now looking at getting some + 2" springs if you can get them in the UK.
