Rear seat removal
« on: February 22, 2011, 02:48:45 PM »

Hi
Trying to completely remove the rear seats from my 98 Sahara TJ.  All ive succeeded in doing so far is taking the skin of my knuckles several times.
Any ideas?
Cheers

IIRC fold them up to free rear clips then undo the front bolts??

And no you dont need to use a torque wrench

Bolts?  Must have changed for my 2001 model.

As above, fold the seat up.  From the cargo bay, look at the seat hinge on either side.  There should be a retaining clip on the hinge bar (attached to the seat).  Remove the clips, then slide the seat to one side and it you should be able to remove it from the bracket.  Repeat on the other side.  Replace clips on seat hinge so you don't lose them.

You only need a socket set if you need to remove the seatbelt fastners.
