Missing
« on: December 01, 2005, 11:13:35 AM »

The XJ seems to be missing a bit!
Changed the plugs this morning, closed the plug gaps to 0.035m, Also put in new HT leads.
When accelerating she seems to go ok although a little slugish, but when sitting at lights ticking over in gear you can hear and feel is missing a little
BuuuuuurBBBburrrBBurrrrrrrrrrrrrBBBBurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Any ideas?

if it was ok before it could be a loose lead, faulty plug...........

pull the plug leads off one at a time & see which one is causing the problem

Right have tried all of that, no difference :(

When I pulled a lead off and give her some revs you could hear that a pot wasnt fireing, and when you speed up all pots fire.
But when your on tick over the idel speed fluctuates between 1000 and 500. Before it was a steady purr at just bellow 1K.
When in gear it lights or the like it almost threatens to cut out!
