You probably be OK on a TJ cos front prop has carden double whatsit on prop...........
But locker or no slip on front will spin both driveshafts in 2wd and obviously the prop and that will spin front output on transfercase and that in turn will have the 231 chain spinning without load on it..............
Might not be a problem..............but my 2 cents worth......
My YJ had powertrax lockright on front Dana 30........... awesome off road.......... BUT broke the weaker YJ UJs quite easily....and then with Crown TJ shafts and UJs broke them as well not as easily but still broke.
Vibrations from everything spinning mullared pinion bearing which got wobbly....... fragged the propshaft and spun up the transfer case and then I had to replace the chain and bits (you could see where the chain had spun against the inside of the case......
How did I fix it all..... spendy spendy
Warn freewheeling hub kit........
Warn chrome moly shafts and superior UJs
new prop.
Then tight turns in mud in 4 x4 were not easy so went to an ARB.... in front.
So in summary.......... Free wheeling hubs cheap and easy on CJs avoids all spinning of stuff in 2wd so No slip or Lockright good
ON YJ deffo, maybe TJ as well, ...ARB is spendy but tis all you'll need to do ........... what I did was because I refused to spend on overpriced Ozzy stuff (ARB) and the over 8 years realized this would have been the cheaper route
My Warn FWH kit was more than an ARB......
and they don't do em anymore some one else has stepped into the crease..can't remember who at the moment.....
So this is just a heads up as to what can happen........... Just so you can save some money...........
Like I didn't.............. no regrets tho. Learnt a lot
