Auto kick down
« on: December 14, 2005, 09:36:03 AM »

My kick down in drive dont work
All the gears work fine, 1-2 works fine when selected on the stick, so does 3, drive engages also but drive only kicks down to 3rd and no lower. Hence when your setting off you have to select 1-2 then move it into drive once at speed.

I was told that there is a cable/rod the runs form the autobox to the throtle assembly which works the kick down that needs sorting out!

Is this true? Or is it bollocks?

Won't be the cable. This only comes into play when you floor it. Normal gearshifts are computer controlled. Check all the fuses in the box under the hood first.
