Just trying to work out how I can check to see if the starter motor that came with my engine is working ok, I tried the method I usually use (motor in vise, jumper leads to battery, body of motor to ground, positve to terminal) but all I got was a dead short spark. Any ideas or is that saying the starter is knackered. I know the starter uses an external solenoid to activate but this should still work.
