After three years continuous use the WJ 4.7 v8 failed MOT
Upper control arm bushes and two tie rod ends from pitman arm to ns knuckle..... no problems
I then started a minor brake service that has turned into a major rebuild!
How it passed last two years who knows? Serious problems at the back on near side!
Long story short!
New discs all round, new pads and parking brake shoes/ small parts, new rear ns calliper and new front to back pipe work [cunifer].
The flexy hoses are being salvaged.
Now the questions .......
The rear mid flexy attached to the upper control arm terminates in the connector block on top of the axle and the left and right pipes connect here but there is also a rubber pipe comes off the connector [crimp connection] and disappears up toward the petrol filler where it flops about unsecured with what looks like a plastic valve thing in the end
?? [Technical speak!]
I have read the service manual end to end and can find no mention and no pictures.......
WTF is that pipe? + How is the connector fastened to the axle case?
When I cut out the old steel lines will the connector block fall loose?
The old rear left and right pipes are steel wire wrapped [stiffness? Stone protection?] and the new needs securing to the axle. Are there any [MOT approved] recommendations for clipping / pipe saddles and or reinforcement / protection for cunifer
?
I need you guys !
Cheers
Dave
