sorry my apologise. ask for help and sure didnt describe the problem.

i have a front right hand u joint snapped. now i no there are a lot of different axles. but iv a vim 96 2door xj, with a chrysler (8.25 i think) rear diff. iv that helps narrow down the choices of diff for front. just thinking incase they came in groups.

if your jeep is std then it should be dana 30 front and dana 35 rear.

the chrysler 8.25 was fitted mainly to the 2.5 petrol

C8.25 is identified by: no ABS (if you have ABS then you have a D35); 3" diameter axle tubes (bigger than on a D35); flat bottom to lower diff edge (easy to spot when you've seen the two togehter but perhaps not much help if not).

The two sizes are normally for 2.5 petrol (smaller) or 4.0 (bigger), however there's no 100% way to tell without measuring.

If you take your u/j to any automotive shop or parts shop they will find you one the right size...

The u/j on a Jeep is not specific to a Jeep , its probably used on many different vehicles....A good parts supplier will be able to measure it and find you one the same size.....

diameter of the caps and overall length accross 2 caps and they should be able to identify it, or as suggested just plonk it on the counter

or phone lighthouse and they will have in stock  :icon_winkle:
