tj rear track bar mod
« on: February 06, 2012, 07:55:58 PM »

ive got a 98tj with a 2-3" lift and would like to bring the back end into line.
Is it a do able option just to cut the rear trackbar, slide some tube over and then weld it so its about an inch or so longer?
any thoughts?

Indeed it's possible - I have also seen the drop bracket this has the same effect but much cheaper.

The lhd wont fit without modification, I cut my TB in half and put a turnbuckle in the middle but knowing what I know now if youre thinking about cutting and welding tube on I would just cut one end off, weld some tube with a threaded insert on and screw a JJ in it, that will make it adjustable for when you go higher...same at the front.. :greggmo:

but the drop bracket on the chassis is easier and cheaper..

Looks like you're sorted now.
But FYI: Steve at fte sells these for rhd's for about 50 quid drill you're own hole to go with your lift. When my back axle was off centre it kept overtaking the front on wet roads which made for some hairy times. Never done it since drop bracket added.
