this may sound like an odd request but what should i be replacing my brake lines with as they are corroded?

a so called expert has advised that i need to replace with the armoured jeep brake type as it could fail Mot but surely that can t be the case?

oh and has anyone got a power servo brake cylinder as think i may have to fit an anchor to it when running again if stay with my standard one

did mine with copper, just routed em out of the way

if your replacing brake lines use the copper/nickel type

I will def use the copper nickel and looked at a brake replace kit for it from 4wd.com but too expensive for what it is so will source non metric connectors from local supplier and do them myself

buy a swaging kit and imperial fittings (not metric) and make your own

brake replace kit from 4wd is Lhd, very different if your righty

the armoured cover hides the potential rot underneath.

replace with copper pipe and this allows you to use the cheap brake pipe flaring tools.

ideally you want to replace the pipe with copper/nickel this is alot harder so more expensive and stronger flaring tool is required.

aim to use a double flared ends where possible.

you could over sleeve the pipe with clear heat shrink for additional protection but the copper nickel gets it's protection from the surface oxidising.

As it happens I have got hold of a pickavant flaring kit so all good on that score I just need to get lots of imperial fittings.

It has to move in 3 weeks as moving house so need to put the tub back on and get some stopping power to it!
