Weber Carb on a CJ7
« on: April 10, 2012, 08:23:05 PM »

Anyone have a Weber fitted who may beable to take a photo of their setup?? I'm struggling to visualise how the throttle cable should attach with bracketry, etc.

I'll put some pics of what's there on this thread in a moment.

in that case it should be ok with std cable and bracket, still using the same cable with the V8

for some reason the engine in it came from an auto by the looks of it , os it has the auto cable and kickdown bracket not the manual type. Can be adapted tho.

Some pics to illustrate. Odd you say it's an auto bracket. This must be the third engine then as the original was a 4 spd according to the firewall.

I take it yours is a RHD, when I had it it was fitted to a LHD, 180 degrees around from the way you have it (link at the back) and the bracket was similar but only 1 square hole and the other way up (raised above the manifold line) hope that helps

Yep, RHD. Interesting about the bracket. So you'd say flip it upside down from where it is? Sorry, coming at this purely as a novice.

Might be of some help thanks. Same location on engine, but different side as you say. Easier run for the throttle cable for sure.

Wonder if I need to turn the carb 180 again like you had it? That should still be the same should it not?? Would also align the bracket then, unless I can get that on the other side as well...

hows this getting on?

also noted that the PSV valve is missing from the rear of the rocker cover, there was nowhere to fit the PSV vent tube on that air filter, but make sure it is vented somewhere

Haven't spent anymore time with it since last post. Removed a spare tyre holder, radiator, and covered a rather large room with laminate flooring.

I may need to seek help with this one as no experience with carbs and struggling to get my head round it.
