Need a rear exhaust section
« on: May 17, 2012, 09:58:18 PM »

Hi guys
I looked under our new (to us) 2002 Jeep Cherokee KJ 3.7 Ltd today and found the rear box looking very shabby and the pipe looks as though it won't go on many more miles. Does anyone know of a supplier that doesn't charge the earth for a new exhaust, or better still anyone near Kettering, Northants that can fit one for a reasonable sum?
Thanks in advance

To be honest, I hadn't considered Kwik Fit, I will give them a go though.
Thanks

get a quote from your local stainless steel exhaust place before you commit to a mild steel, my ZJ worked out £15 more to have an exhaust made and fitted in S/S than buy the bits in mild steel on eBay and then have to fit it myself

I got a SS price of £345, so I figured that we would get a mild steel one for now  :icon_winkle: I have had prices of £290, £185+VAT and £147.20 fitted and inc VAT, bet you can't guess where we are going on Monday to have a new exhaust fitted?  :icon_biggrin:
The best price came from a local garage that we have used to do odd jobs on our cars and MOT them and I am amazed that he can beat the "big boys" on price, great deal I think.
Thanks for that advice chaps, great help.

I had the rear section of the exhaust changed for a nice shiny new one and it definitely sounds a bit better  :icon_biggrin: Wife's happy anyway, good job  :icon_winkle:
