New boy needs help again
« on: December 13, 2012, 05:52:55 PM »

Hi all, different car, different problem, just purchased a 2003 Cherokee KJ, the radio is asking for a code which I found written in the handbook, enter code, repeat code as directed by the display, then it displays "WAIT", well I've waited and three weeks later I'm still bloody waiting, lol, anybody got an idea whats wrong?.

pull the stereo from the dash and see if it has the code written on it, many second hand dealers do this.

Thanks for the offer, I'll keep it in mind, but I'm going to try and sort this one first.

just to expand on my rather short first answer, if it ask you to repeat that indicates that it was the wrong code, when the correct code is entered the radio just comes on.

as Panic suggested pull the unit and look for the code, when I used to decode radios I would write the code on the inside of the case, also worth noting that some radios codes are read and with some the code is generated so if the unit has been to a decoder there is no guarantee the code at the dealer will now be correct (and not sure about jeep units)
