Helicoper tape is it worth it
« on: October 28, 2012, 04:19:48 PM »

Having just had my new rock rails powder coated, i want to give them a fighting chance of looking good after winter with salt, grit etc. I am think of wraping the rock rails in Helicopter tape
like this stuff.

https://www.vikingtapes.co.uk/p-1233-3m-8671hs-polyurethane-protective-tape-short-rolls-100mm-x-3m.aspx

has anyone tried it and it is worth doing??

that tape is only designed to protect items in storage to stop scratches - not items in use

POR-15 on bare metal. Once that has dried you wont remove it with a hammer.
Do it right, do it once.  :icon_winkle:
