Steering Damper

Am fitting a new steering damper but I am having problems getting the old one off. Is it a question of using a bigger hammer :lol_hitting:

Any ideas how to get the steering damper out of the tie rod side?? Heated it, frozen it (freeze spray), been in penetrating oil daily for more than a week and still not budging.

New one fitted, just needs bolting and torquing down now

When it comes to a steering dampener YOU CAN"T BEAT the standard option!!!!!!

Hey, it's personal choice!!! For me I have tried them all, and the OE is the best by far in every aspect.



Don't take my word for it!!! One could completely ignore my wisdom - grab one balls in ones hands and throw a shiet load of money at it.

Hardly any price difference tbh. Paid £48 delivered for the RC and the Crown replacement OE was £39.

OK, but is the girth bigger? Not talking about valving, heat displacement, oil viscosity or any other snake oil - size really does matter on these, the rampant rabbit simply will not fit!!!

This fits, no scraping anywhere.I have watched it full lock from one side to the other. It is a genuine ZJ replacement or sold as such anyway.

2 months on I have to admit you were right :sign0023:. It does scrape in 1 position. I am shocked as I always know best  :wsmile:
