Windows/drivers door query
« on: February 23, 2013, 02:36:16 PM »

Afternoon All
Ive had an intermitant problem with windows working when they want, also drivers door given up on central locking. Works from the key but not remote.
Are these electrics connected in some way. Also which fuse is the windows linked to. As the car manual doesnt show. Any help appreciated.

Tis a prob with the wires that go from door to rest of vehicle.... They get brittle and then a bad connection.......
had the same thing with my GC last year on a warm day and had driver window down for motorway trip....pain....wires are in corrugated big tube at bottom of door jamb on driver side...... Pull back and look for chaffing and break in wire..
My door module stopped working all together but other doors and window functions on the other three doors were ok...

Look on You tube ...... A bloke in US does a video of what he did to repair...... In my case gave it a manual exploratory and whatever I did it started working again and still does......( kiss of death....will prob go again tomorrow).

Hope that helps :icon_super:
