2.5TD Radiator replacement options
« on: January 27, 2013, 01:19:46 PM »

Hey all,

Random question regarding radiators for JGC Laredo 2.5TD.

Firstly - having googled the various numbers on this radiator label (see pic) this radiator does not exist! none of these numbers show anything at all. I'm led to believe that Mopar part numbers are 7 digits, I stand to be corrected so here's the question, any ideas on correct rad to fit? Would, say, a rad off of a 2.5TD XJ fit the ZJ as I believe both motors are of the VM variety.

XJ rad will not fit - the GC has the intercooler bolted to the side of the rad - which is then fitted into the car as one unit

Thank you for that, any joy as to correct part number for replacement at all? The only ones i seem to be able to find are nothing like the one I have, seem to be a 3 section unit, I assume aircon/intercooler/rad all in one.......mass confusion.....mind blown!

easiest/cheapest option is just get yours either repaired or re-cored! Had mine done a couple of months ago, cost me the grand sum of a tenner! :icon_super:

they can recore/rebuild anything - just how much it costs, normally around £100 mark - rather than £10 (they would want more just to do a bit of braze around here)

As it turns out, I'm unable to source a replacement - almost tempted to put knife to wrist and hack away like a mediteranian mosquito on heat!! I did however find one place that could do a re-core but at a hefty price of £300.00!!

If anyone could point me in the right direction to a replacement or aftermarket part that would fit it would be highly appreciated

Is there an oil cooler in the rad? If not then that's about £100 to much
