thinking of buying JEEP CHEROKEE TD

thinking of buying JEEP CHEROKEE TD need some info i have a VAUXHALL Frontera 2.8 TD Sport S great motor but noisey 28mph but need 4door can you give me some tips & info please.do not want a petrol .

UNLESS it's been very well looked after (oil, filters and coolant changed Religiously) The 2.5 VM is known to be a bit crappy.

nowt, just the 4 ltr is a lot more lively & better offroad....

the 2.5TD is tough & reliable (but prone to head problems as with all VM diesels)

the earlier Limited models have a few more luxurys & toys.....

make sure you get service history!

check for saggy rear springs, cos if its done a lot of towing, they will be!!

If possible go for as late as possible 2.5TD  ie Post 1998....

Earlier VM's diesels could be problematical if not properly serviced after some of the initial service intervals
The later design engines were I believe better

THere's a place in Chesterfield? who specialises in working on VM's tho

Check the power steering/ aircon unit as they can be  a bitch to sort out, ditto starter motor if it plays up

No but then again the owners don't normally go around in shirts the Rubettes would have been ashamed to wear going 'Oh bugger my pulleys broke'........
