From my house to J23 on the M6 is 240 miles.  The trip at an average of 70 with max speeds of 80mph used to use 7/8s of tank.  If I knew how much a fuel tank held I could then give an estimate of MPG.  When I go out to the I will look it up but I'm nice and warm now and outside is cold brrrrrr.
