Hi all,

Any advice re cleaning electrical connections - specifically light sockets?

Changing a bulb at the weekend and noticed that the inside of the socket is pretty cruddy due to all the deep wading we've been doing. I'm guess the rest will be the same and want to clean-em up.

I seem to remember someone saying not to use WD40 for cleaning electrical bits and bobs - but would PlusGas or similar be okay? Any advice appreciated.

Any solvent degreaser spray for electrical use should be OK. Tandy/ Radioshack used to do one, but I think they've closed now.

I use contact cleaner and if it will fit a flat needle file to just scrape of the oxidation.
