Oil pressure
« on: November 20, 2013, 03:29:53 PM »

My Cherokee 2.5 petrol ,  has today started showing low oil pressure at tick over  then just under normal at tick over stood at junction , and just under normal at driving speed ,
I have checked oil and it up to mark and like the day I put it in mid summer .
Could this be the pressure switch and if so we're is it?.............cheers

The symptoms are typical of the oil pressure sensor. In the US they'd usually suggest connecting a mechanical gauge to check the oil pressure, and confirm the switch is bad. Fuck knows where you'd get hold of one of them though so I'd just change it.

Pulled plug off sender today  cleaned pins and replaced,   Ran motor oil pressure is now showing
Just over normal at tick over, so must be connection or switch?   But will take your advice and replace switch.....cheers.

Hmmm. Might have just been a bad connection then.

I'd consider it fixed for now and spend the money on beer. ...speaking of which, it's past time I opened a bottle.
