hi chaps/chappettes

been as i learning the hard way that these beasts need a lot of care and attention, and that garages/mechanics  cost the earth ....

what spares,tools,books general infomation ect would a proud jeep owner not be without

:twisted:  i am also learning the hard way.. if i had a list it would be a complete spare jeep . cos each time i`m out it has to go back to the garage for something different.

in the last 4 months.. new front fender.  front indicator.  5 new tyres 33 mud terrains.  new 4.5" shocks and springs. steerin stabilizer. new wing mirrors.  lots of uj`s.  bolty things.  mot.  service.  new alarm.  

got to go now still out sellin the big issue :wink:

I cant afford a spare TJ yet but i do have a birty's calendar and a crate of beer..

And a grease gun ... but its a start...

My jeep is called the Natwest Overdraft, as for tool’s a good grease gun is a must and a big drum for old oil, because you can’t change the oil too often (and it's a good idea to have a mate with a spare Wrangler, isn't Peter.   )

all ive got are the broken bits that i had 2 change. they look kinda sad and useless. but i have got a spare fridge full of beer and vodka plus a few bottles of whiskey on the side

where to start:

good quality sockets - Metric (up to early 20mms and a 33mm for the big nut on the steering), Imperial, Torx, Allen, Ratchet Drives, Breaker Bars, Extensions, UJs, etc and make sure they cover the range of driver sizes.
good quality spanners - if you can afford the ratchet ring spanners are great and adjustables (for measuring the nuts!).
screwdrivers various and one of those that can take all the little bits.
pliers, wire cutters, crimpers, etc.
files, drills, taps, etc.
Grease Gun (with needle adaptor), oil can, either a diff syringe or long tube and a funnel, WD40, Copperslip, Penetrating oil.
Trolley Jack(s) and axle stands.
Spring Compressors.
Pop Riveter.
Impact gun.
Air compressor and air tools.
2 post lift.
Welder.

Spare Jeep would be nice or a petrol pump that pumps free petrol.... Would settle for a free beer tap if pushed.
