yes i have secondhand one bolted in the corner of the garage worth its weight in tyre changes off road tyres and easy to do all be heavy lifting involved . low profile tyres are a bastard though

Back in the day (bloody hell 35 year ago god I'm an old fart) i remember them being jolly hard work
good for getting fit i would suggest - the other thing is balancing
fit and balance is no different cost that just balance at my local tyre store

a m8 had one in his lock up it was good for what it was. as previously said low pros were hard work but with a decent bar for leverage theyre ok

i used airsoft BB's as an active balance add appox 8oz per tyre

I'm still at the piece of angle and a BFH stage (with a hi-lift if tight). Works if you have no care for the wheels!

me too parting with cash at a tyre place is wrong

I've been getting practised with the high lift and tyre levers method, take some brute force at times but I've not failed yet.

yup i do my own but them machines look a little easier going for when i am less energetic

Do you mean the stands that has a lever to break the bead and a post to fit the wheel to while you pop the tyre off the wheel? I got a cheapie one a while ago but prefer the simplicity of levers.

got an ace Mk1 bolted to the garden path all manual good bit of kit

I got a Dunlop hydraulic bead breaker in my shed.
Leaks oil like fuck but will succeed when those air powered things fail.
I wouldn't mind a rotating table thingy too,  but never been offered one cheap enough.

breaking the bead is always the hardest part, long bars make things easier.

good fixed solid base and learning the knack will make it easier, something you just learn. Low profile tyres are a nightmare even on an auto machine. get a decent ratchet strap to compress the tyre when it wont seat
