ZG rear diff
« on: January 23, 2016, 11:51:46 PM »

Mates got a 98 ZG 4 litre with apparently a whiney rear diff  Will a oil and additive change help short/long term? or is it a potential rebuild??? Its not had the diff fluids changed in 5+ years. IN theory I'm being lent it to project manage the rear strengthening bar recall for it and test low box (He missed hearing me saying the Wayfarer) Thoughts please clever Birtys

an oil change and additive can do it no harm at all  and i have to say a whine on its own is not always impending disaster i had one that drove with a pleasant hum  at motorway speeds for two years and it did not get worse

clearly i cant comment on the one you refer too  oil wont heal things up but definitely wont hurt
