Jeep KJ 2.8CRD blown turbo
« on: January 28, 2016, 07:56:23 PM »

Evening, got a client (I look after her trailer) her jeep Cherokee 2.8crd blew it's turbo,
new turbo fitted but it's smoking like a bitch!
Am I right it saying the exhaust will be full of oil and killed the cat? Hence the smoking.

Thoughts are if this is likely to be the case to have it decatted.

Cheers

you will need to strip down and clean all the induction manifold as it will all be contaminated with oil and residue, all associated tubing and intercooler.... then i would see how it runs

The cat won't make it smoke. It probably has oil in the exhaust that will burn off. Just hope the intercooler isn't full of oil, or it'll run away and go booooom!
